le 15 novembre 2020

Shame network inaugural meeting

Hosted by research units Prismes (EA 4398) and CREW (4399), Sorbonne nouvelle - Paris 3 This project aims to explore the language, representations as well as the individual and collective effects of shame in the English-speaking world. It seeks to bring together scholars from various disciplines across the humanities, such as literature and the arts, language and translation, psychology and psychoanalysis, history, sociology, anthropology, political science and cultural studies.
The first meeting of the “Shame” network will take place at Sorbonne Nouvelle University on 20-21 March 2020. Its aim is to define the scope and methodologies of our collaborative research project, to define our scientific objectives and prospects in terms of publication and other scientific and creative output and to develop a funding and grant application strategy. We therefore invite proposals for:
-10 mn presentations of individual research projects, outlining your proposed contribution to the network.
- 45 mn roundtables addressing theoretical, methodological and epistemological issues as well as questions of research funding strategy.
A collaborative, incremental bibliography is available to all participants on a google drive doc. Please let us know if you would like to access it.
Please send proposals for presentations and roundtables to shame@sorbonne-nouvelle.fr by 15 November 2020.
