Le Master 2 d'Etudes européennes a pour objectif de former des spécialistes des questions européennes.
Pour ce faire, il propose trois options (sous-parcours) entre lesquelles les étudiant.e.s doivent choisir au moment de candidater et qu'ils/elles suivront pendant tout leur cursus :
- option Affaires Internationales et Sécurité en Europe (AISE)
- option Environnement, Humanitaire, Développement et Droits Fondamentaux en Europe (EHDDFE)
- option Institutions, Gouvernances et Affaires Publiques Européennes (IGAPE)

En plus d'enseignements professionnalisants, les étudiant.e.s devront suivre des cours et séminaires thématiques en langue anglaise.

Le Master offre par ailleurs d'autres activités complémentaires (conférences, débats, etc.) via le partenariat qu'elle a mis en oeuvre avec l'association Eurosorbonne.

Attractive dans le paysage universitaire français et européen, cette formation est par nécessité sélective (70 étudiants par année), selon les critères détaillés ci-dessous.

The aim of the Master 2 is to train specialists in European issues.

It offers three options which students must choose from when applying for the program, and which they will follow throughout their Master's program:
- International Affairs and Security in Europe (AISE)
- Environment, Humanitarian Aid, Development and Fundamental Rights in Europe (EHDDFE)
- European Institutions, Governance and Public Affairs (IGAPE).

In addition to professional courses, students will be required to take thematic courses and seminars in English.

This Master’s degree also offers other complementary activities (conferences, debates, etc.) through its partnership with the Eurosorbonne association.

Objectifs

– Une professionnalisation de haute qualification sur les questions européennes.
– De solides connaissances sur la construction européenne dans ses dimensions économiques, historiques, juridiques et politiques
– Le premier semestre de la formation offre à cet effet une UE « Découverte des Métiers de l’Europe », tandis que le dernier semestre comporte un stage obligatoire d’au moins deux mois pour tou(te)s les étudiant(e)s.
– Rédaction d’un mémoire de recherche élaboré tout au long les deux années et qui fait l’objet d’une soutenance à la fin du M2. Le Master peut d’ailleurs déboucher sur un Doctorat dans l’une des disciplines mentionnées ci-dessus.
– Identifier et analyser les grands enjeux relatifs aux questions internationales et de société.
– Monter des dossiers thématiques à partir de supports variés : textes, images, cartes...
– S’exprimer à l’oral et à l’écrit sur des questions internationales et de société en français et en anglais voire dans une seconde langue étrangère.
– Analyser et suivre l’actualité internationale.
– Synthétiser des informations pour appuyer un argumentaire.

Spécificités

L'étude d'une langue vivante étrangère est obligatoire, en privilégiant les  langues de spécialités, au travers de l'étude des concepts économiques, juridiques et institutionnels. Une formation en Français langue étrangère est possible pour les étudiants étrangers.
 

With courses grouped together in the first semester and an “undifferentiated” second semester, Master 2 enables students to reinforce their professionalization through a 2 to 6-month internship (for which an internship grade is awarded), and to continue the introduction to research work begun in the first year through the production of a dissertation, the format of which can vary according to the student's project. This exercise is supervised by a dissertation director.

The study of a modern foreign language is compulsory, with priority given to specialty languages, through the study of economic, legal and institutional concepts. A course in French as a foreign language is available for foreign students.

• Accès de droit après validation de la 1ère année du master « Etudes européennes » de la Sorbonne Nouvelle;
• Accès sur dossier pour les titulaires d'autres diplômes de niveau M1 comportant de solides acquis en études européennes (voir ci-dessous), notamment en histoire, économie, droit ou science politique ou par validation des acquis de l'expérience (voir ci dessous "Admission").
• Access by right after validation of the 1st year of the Sorbonne Nouvelle “European Studies” Master's degree;
• Candidates holding other M1-level degrees with a solid background in European studies (see below), particularly in history, economics, law or political science, are admitted on the basis of their academic record, or by validation of prior experience (see “Admission” below).

Critère de recrutement :

L’accès direct en M2 est l’exception, les deux années du master d'études européennes formant un tout et le M1 étant consacré à l'acquisition d'un socle de connaissances indispensables.

S'agissant de l'accès direct en M2, l'admission est prononcée sur la base de l'examen, par une commission pédagogique, d'un dossier détaillant le cursus antérieur, les titres/diplômes/certifications et notes obtenus et, lorsqu’il y a lieu, tout justificatif de stages et/ou expériences professionnelles. Le cursus antérieur doit comporter de solides acquis en études européennes.

De plus, le dossier comporte une lettre de motivation et une présentation du projet professionnel établie par le candidat.

Ce dossier doit notamment permettre d'apprécier et d’évaluer la nature et le niveau des enseignements suivis antérieurement par le candidat, les connaissances et les compétences qu'il a acquises, sa motivation du candidat eet l'adéquation de son projet professionnel aux finalités de la  formation.

Le cas échéant, la commission pourra convier le candidat à un entretien oral afin d’échanger sur son parcours et/ou son projet.

Recruitment criteria:
Direct access to M2 is the exception, as the two years of the Master of European Studies form a whole and M1 is devoted to the acquisition of an essential knowledge base.

For direct access to M2, admission is granted on the basis of a pedagogical committee's examination of a dossier detailing the student's previous course of study, qualifications/diplomas/certificates and grades obtained and, where applicable, proof of internships and/or professional experience. Previous studies must include a solid background in European studies.

The application must also include a letter of motivation and a presentation of the candidate's professional project.

In particular, the application must enable us to assess and evaluate the nature and level of the courses previously taken by the candidate, the knowledge and skills he or she has acquired, his or her motivation as a candidate, and the suitability of his or her career plan to the aims of the training course.

If necessary, the committee may invite the candidate to an oral interview to discuss his or her career path and/or project.

The Master's degree of European Studies is attached to the Institute of European Studies (IEE), which is attached to the “Cooperation and Integration in the European Space” (ICEE) host team.
