International students: find a mentor!

The International Affairs Office (DAI) helps all students find a mentor via the Buddy System programme

Sign up for the Buddy System programme to find a student mentor during your studies at the Sorbonne Nouvelle.
This mentor, who will also be a student at the Sorbonne Nouvelle will help you get to know the university, meet new people and speak French on a regular basis. You will be able to speak with your mentor about your country, your culture and maybe speak with them in your language. The mentor will be chosen by the International Affairs Office on the basis of shared interests (level of study, age, languages spoken, hobbies and expectations).

How to sign-up?

Go to the Buddy System platform and complete your profile using our tutorial [PDF - 284 Ko]. You will receive an email in the following days with an offer of a mentor who shares a common profile.

Sorbonne Nouvelle students: become a mentor!

The Sorbonne Nouvelle, University of Cultures, welcomes more than 4000 international students each year (1 in 4 students) from almost 140 different countries. It offers opportunities to exchange with other students via this tutoring programme.

The International Affairs Office (DAI) has set up a Buddy System programme to help international students find a mentor at the Sorbonne Nouvelle.

Volunteer mentors are put in touch with an international student who shares a common profile (level of study, age, languages spoken, hobbies and expectations). It is an opportunity to meet and to interact with a foreign student: you can help them discover the university, speak French on a regular basis, and in return, learn more about their country and culture.
Give life to the concept of the University of Cultures by sharing your knowledge. This experience could be relevant if you plan to apply for an exchange programme and in your CV.

How to sign-up?

Go to the Buddy System platform and complete your profile using our tutorial [PDF - 198 Ko]. You should select the “étudiant local” (mentor) option during registration. You will receive an email in the following days with a match for an international student who corresponds to your profile.
