Application as an exchange student

The International Affairs Office welcomes many incoming exchange students.

If you want to come study at Sorbonne Nouvelle - Paris 3 in the framework of an exchange programme, your university must have signed a bilateral agreement with us and have selected you as an exchange student.
If you want to study at Sorbonne Nouvelle - Paris 3 as individual candidate (registration for a full curriculum to get a Sorbonne Nouvelle diploma) you can find out about the application process here.

Step 1 - Your nomination by your home university

The international coordinator from your home university has to send the list of selected students to the person in charge of the programme you belong to:

Nomination deadlines:
- 1st semester / full academic year : from February 15th until May 15th
- 2nd semester: from September 15th until November 15th

Step 2 - Apply online and send your application documents to the International Office

Once you have been nominated by your home university, you have to fill an online application form and send us your application documents (all in one PDF) by email.

- 2nd semester : from October 15th until November 15th

Please note that :
1/ We require our candidates a sufficient French level so that they can follow lectures and write academic papers (B1 level minimum, B2 recommended).
2/ Be aware that we do not offer French courses at beginner level. However, classes are available each term for our exchange students to improve their language skills, knowledge of French culture and methodology.
3/ At the beginning of September, an intensive French training course is offered for free to our exchange students (upon registration).
