Accommodation - individual international students

Accommodation in Paris and the Ile-de-France

Paris is an attractive city and accommodation is highly sought-after: we therefore strongly advise you to start looking for accommodation as soon as possible in order to maximise your chances of finding an accommodation.

The CROUS - Centre Régional des Oeuvres Universitaires et Scolaires - offers accommodation in university residences.
However, the number of applications to the CROUS of Paris is extremely high. As individual international students without scholarships are not given priority, we recommend that you find another form of accommodation.

Do not hesitate to consult the pages produced by Campus France, dedicated to accommodation:

Finally, the Centre d'Information et de Documentation Jeunesse (CIDJ) also gives you some advice:

See our housing guide

To help you in your search, the International Affairs Office has produced an Accommodation guide, containing information and advice on accommodation in Paris and the Ile-de-France.

You can find several temporary accommodation solutions for your first  days in France. These can be used to justify temporary accommodation when applying for a visa.

You can also find proposals for private student residences, hostels, rentals and shared accommodation, all listed by arrondissement.

Please note that all sites and agencies mentioned in the guide are given as an indication to help you in your research. The Université Sorbonne Nouvelle is not affiliated with any of these establishments or areas and declines all responsability.

International Welcome Desk

In order to facilitate your arrival in Paris, the Cité Universitaire Internationale de Paris (CIUP) has set up a Welcome Desk run by a multilingual team, who provides guidance when completing administrative procedures and looking for accommodation.
It is usually held from mid-September to the end of October at the Maison Internationale de la CIUP, 17 boulevard Jourdan (RER B / T3a - Cité Universitaire).
